Busy, Busy, Busy...

This post is all over the place , so I apologize in advance.
I have been so busy running lately, doing quite a bit. I am getting all the prizes out this week, so if you won, hang in there. I have also finished up the last two orders I had. A very nice lady from Rachel's yahoo group has been so patient. I misplaced her first dress so I made her two new ones. I hope you like them!!
I used some of Rachel's special fabric and had enough left to make Rachel matching ones!! (can you tell I hope we adopt our girls at the same time!?!)

Anyway, Kerry and I have had a strong urge to pray for Rachel today. Not sure why or what is happening but we will be storming the gates and on our knees today. So, please join us if you will.

Now onto the bunnies. I have the fabric cut. The appliques patterns are now made and I need to get busy. I will do the pink ones exactly as in the previous post, but I was thinking of doing the blue bunnies more for a boy, maybe with carrots and an egg or two instead of flowers. The sewing of the bunny isn't what takes so long on these it's the hand applique work. Which is what I think makes them special. And I promise to get busy once we get home form Gracie's speech class.

Bunnies...

I received many compliments on the bunny I made for Jie. So, i am in the process of making more pink ones and a few blue ones. I will post when they are finished. They will go to the first person that wants them. Not sure on pricing yet, I have to figure out cost and time, but they won't be expensive.

Thank you all for your support and fundraising ideas. You all amaze me.

~ The Simple Things ~

are sometimes the best...

J J really wanted a pink bunny at T*arget, I didn't want to waste the money on something she would play with for all of five minutes and we are counting every dollar here. So, I let her help me make one and she loves it!! Total cost, $0 !! I used fabric and scraps I had on hand. She likes it because she can also use it as a pillow.

The raffle winners are going to be announced tomorrow. I also came up with two extra prizes. Nothing big, just a necklace made by Hannah and an outfit made by me.

~ Carnival Fun ~

Today was Jake's school carnival. We had purchased tickets way back before the huge, ginormous snowstorm. It had been cancelled twice. The big kids didn't really want to go but, I talked them into it. After all , the money went to help the school buy much needed supplies and it was inexpensive family fun. You can't beat that!!

I will say that I did make Hannah play the cake walk with me so our chances of winning the Barbie cake JJ spied would be greater. She wasn't happy but agreed and guess what, Our second try, JJ won!!

Almost forgot to add, our raffle will end tomorrow at noon. The kids will draw the winners sometime after dinner and I will post that night or early Monday!! You can enter on this blog through the Chip in button or go to the Sewing blog and click on the donate here button.

Once again, thank you all for your support. Without you we would never have been able to bring our daughter home.

~ Now our God, we give you thanks and praise Your glorious name ~

I've got nothing...

It's been a long 15 days since the kids have been out of school. Not that I haven't enjoyed spending time with all of them, we did. We spent quite a bit of quality family time together.

But, in the back of all our minds was Rachel, waiting in China still, after our dossier has been sitting there for almost 6 months. This is not normal. We need answers and hopefully today sometime we will get some.

And because I can't do a post without a picture here is our girl imitating her new favorite movie.

If you couldn't guess, it's Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. She loves how the main character kisses (or rather tries) in the movie. She will now only give kisses while puffing up her cheeks. So sweet!!

~ Our Celebration ~

Nothing like an "American" Chinese New Year celebration. The Little's have been begging for real Chinese food and since we have not been out to eat in about three months or more, we decided to go out and get Hope some real noodles.

The video is a little crazy and the kids have been in the house for days on end because of the snow, so I apologize in advance for all the craziness. Grace is wearing a new dress, made by me. Finally, I had some time to sew for her. I have finished up all but one order, so please consider ordering a dress!!

Don't forget to scroll down and turn off the music, better yet, don't....the kids are a little loud....LOL

Nine days left...

until our Fundraiser is over. I have had to revise the title on Rachel's blog. Apparently it is not legal to sell raffle tickets through paypal. So, from here on in it is a fundraiser and the button you click on is now a donation. We are giving away some pretty cool prizes. So please consider helping us out. I will email all who donate their numbers.

More snow heading our way....

So if you don't hear from me..... let's hope we keep our power and the roof is still standing after another 10-20 inches hits us.

Today is Hope's birthday. Her fifth birthday. She is so proud and happy to be 5. This means going to kindergarten in the fall. (which our little social bug is so ready for) She comes with me to take Grace to speech, we have lunch with Jakie and she thinks it is so special to be there. I am so happy that her transition will be an easy one. I swear this child could make friends with anyone or anything.

Anyway, back tot he birthday celebration. We had planned making Chinese noodles and having a nice meal together but, the grocery store is very low on items with the storm heading our way again. Guess we'll have to save that for a later date.

We did have a homemade cake on Sunday and she invited a friend over. So all is not lost. (and yes, she picked the lovely pink and purple combination)

I don't really think words are necessary. We got hit with a ton of snow. The kids are enjoying it.

School has been cancelled for Monday and Tuesday.

I am very thankful we have power. Many friends in the area do not.

Let it Snow!!

This is about noon on Friday, not much snow. Matter of fact it has barely begun.

Mr. Snowman waiting patiently for the snow....

Ok, a mere three hours later....

And this is Saturday morning!! It's still snowing and could be heavy at times. Are we back in Michigan or what?? I think we may have brought all the snow with us.
Our power went out twice last night and I am thanking God we still have it this morning. At this point I highly doubt the kids will have school on Monday. I can barely see the roads and our mailbox is completely buried.

Good news is I will have plently of time to get the rest of my sewing orders completed!!
