Happy 2 Year Family Day Rachel!!

We had lots of obstacles in getting our sweet girl home from China back in 2010.

However, we were also blessed with a few hundred pictures while we waited.

Rachel was my girl. From day one I saw her beautiful eyes and I was a goner.

I sensed a strong spirit and a stubbornness.

and boy was I ever right~

But that will serve her well.

She has come a long way in those two years. Many diagnosis' later and we are still trying to figure it all out, but one thing will never change. Our love for her.

Happy forever family day my sweet baby girl!! So glad you are ours~

A New Start~

It's no joke that I have been struggling with Joshua's transition. All the hard work, emotions and hardships we faced bringing him home and then the reality of it all~

Anyway, it's nothing I haven't faced before. Sometimes you have easy transitions and sometimes you don't. We work through it and continue on.

So, I have thought long and hard and needed to re-invent my Etsy shop....It gives me something to do and is an outlet.  Plus the extra money is something we could use right now~

All the therapy, doctor's visits and tests are not cheap, y'all.

Here is a sneak peak.....what do you all think??

The shop is open and you can find it here~

Don't forget to let me know what you think....

Special China Recipe~

Joshua has been asking, pleading and begging for his favorite treat from China. We have searched high and low for this um, delicacy with no luck.

Finally, I stumbled in the door of our local chinese restaurant. I must have looked frazzled and worn out. She asked what was wrong and I told her about our search.

She like the awesome person she is, not only offered to take my number and call us the next time she made them. She also left her business, went home and came back wtih two bags filled with chinese foods for Joshua.

How wonderful was that???

Well, Saturday was the day!! She called and told us to be there at 4. Which was a great thing because Josh and I...well to put it mildly, I was not his favorite person that day.

We went and not only did she have them fresh and waiting, she also had some for him to take home!!

And in case you all were wondering what it is....

Here's the first picture.....

And in case you didn't get a good visual, here is a second one for your enjoyment.

And my happy sweety, who is now a mama's boy :)  grinning and eating his treat. He was a pro, sticking the entire thing in his mouth and spitting out the nails and tiny bones.

Good imagery, right?!?!

We also had noodles and steamed veggies for those of us that did not partake of the chicken feet.

and in case you are wondering, yes, I did try them and they weren't to bad...but it's not something I will try again.

Not to shabby and I get a wink and a hug with an "I lub youa mommy"
